CONCRETE SURFACE PROFILES FOR COATING ADHESION

The first step to a successful surface prep project is identifying the surface profile of the concrete. What is a Concrete Surface Profile? Concrete Surface Profile is a measure of the surface roughness defined by the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). Concrete surface profile range from 1 to 10 with 1 being the smoothest and 10 the roughest.
Most coating systems require a specific Concrete Surface Profile, often referred to as a CSP. Shot blasting is commonly used when a coating manufacturer requires a clean, mechanically profiled surface for proper bond strength.

Why CSP Matters
